Wesley Bear Ministry

Wesley Bear Ministry

One of the most recent additions to our sanctuary are the Wesley Bears that are on the end of each pew.  These Bears are an extension of the worship and pastoral care ministry of this congregation.
Sometimes during worship you will see a congregant holding on to the bear.  Often you will see members of the congregation taking a bear with them as they leave worship.  They are invited to take the Wesley Bears to a friend, family member, neighbor, or anyone going through a difficult time as a tangible expression of prayer and the concern of our congregation.
You can read the Tag that is on each bear.   So that this ministry can sustain itself members are asked to contribute $10 for each Bear they take.
This Ministry was the inspiration of Barb Gaulien who was given a bear as an act of ministry from another congregation when she was going through a difficult time.  She was so touched by it that she was inspired to bring it to our congregation.  We are very glad that she did.  The Wesley Bears continue to be an encouragement to many people.  Sometimes we hear back from those whose lives have been touched.
