Neighbors Sharing Jesus
Food Pantry
Food is collected at Altar as part of celebration
of Holy Communion.
Food PantryThe Mission of the Food Pantry is to provide a means to respond to the emergency food needs of those who experience food insecurity in our community. Volunteers organize donations and prepare bags of groceries. Food is distributed each Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. The Members of this church are very generous in their donations. We are also grateful for the support of other United Methodist Churches in the area including Ellenton UMC, Parrish UM, Palmetto Drive-In UMC, and Terra Ceia UMC. We are also grateful for the generous support of other community groups. Our goal is to distribute this food to those in need in our community with great love respecting their dignity. To ensure that we will be able to respond to requests with consistency, people are asked to come not more often than once a month.
Our Food Pantry is also a part of the Collaborative Food Pantries of the United Methodist Cooperative Ministries that is an Outreach Ministry of the Gulf Central District and the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. Their Financial Assistance greatly enhances the quality of what we are able to offer to our community.
Rev Don Ringland from Terra Ceia United Methodist Church delivers food collected at his church to our Administrative Assistant Noni Hammerstrand. |
